A truly loving mother wants only the best for her child...

Like every American, I was taught my entire life by doctors, family, friends, and television that pregnancy and giving birth are horribly painful ordeals. For starters, you get to look forward to nine months of vomiting, abdominal pain, kicking, constant urination and getting fat. Once that is over with, there is the birth itself. Panicky and afraid, you are whisked into a hospital room, strapped to a table along with a number of other electrical devices. They stick needles in your arms and attach monitors to your body. Your legs are lifted high into the air and the brightly lit room fills with strangers who are poking and prodding you with goodness knows what in your most private of areas. They tell you to push when you don't want to and not to push when you do want to. They cut you with scissors. They inject you with chemicals that, unbeknownst to you could kill or seriously injure you or your child. They screw hooks into your baby's skull. You vomit and scream and are terribly afraid. After many hours and several cc's of drugs later, your baby is ripped from your body either through the vagina the doctor sliced open or through your belly. They inform you of the sex before your baby is taken away to be cleaned, suctioned, slapped, circumcised, injected, poked and prodded before being brought to you. You are completely exhausted as the doctor stitches you up tight as a drum again for your husband, injects you with more pain killers and sends you away.

It doesn't have to be this way.

Every mother can have a quiet, safe, private, erotic and pain-free home birth. This is unheard of for most Americans. We have been terrified into believing that birth is a dangerous and life-threatening medical emergency. Even I was skeptical before learning more about how our bodies work naturally during birth. After reading of the dangers of giving birth in the hospital, I decided to give birth naturally at home alone. Everyone asks me "what if something happens?". What could happen? What could possibly happen that I could not handle myself? There is very little that cannot easily handled by the parents. Giving birth unassisted is as safe as giving birth in a hospital.

I have faith that my body was created as it should be: perfect and completely capable of giving birth on its own. Your birth can be beautiful and pain-free. My baby and I were not be drugged during and days after the birth. I remained awake and alert and ready to care for my child. My baby was born safely at home with her father and I to give her what she needed without the dangers of doctors and hospitals. My birth was quiet and safe. It was the most amazing experience of my life.

Circumcision

Circumcision is a cruel, dangerous and unhealthy practice. Developed in the Victorian era to punish little boys for masturbating, circumcision has become a popular practice in the United States but is practically unheard of in Europe and most other countries. Circumcision affects a baby's brain development, causes infection, mutilates and harms the penis, reduces sensitivity, is incredibly painful, removes the vital protective skin from the penis, and can permanently damage your baby. Many parents hear that circumcision is better for their babies. This is an old wives tale and a lie. There are NO benefits to circumcision, medical or otherwise. The sites below are available to educate parents about the dangers and cruelty of circumcision.

Every year more than one million American infants undergo an operation that the American Pediatric Association declared unnecessary more than a decade ago. With the exception of episiotomy, circumcision is the most common unnecessary surgery performed in the United States. Doctors, midwives and parents have an obligation to stop this contraindicated procedure. There is no reason to keep this cruelty alive. If you doubt this ask yourself this question: why are children fastened to an elaborate immobilizing device called a circumstraint which holds the infant down as he screams?
