Natural Egg Dyes

Boil four quarts of water for one dozen eggs, and add dyes listed below (for various colors) until the color of the water darkens. Add one-quarter cup white vinegar and your eggs. Refrigerate the eggs overnight.

Orange: Onion skins; use more skins for deeper color
Yellow: Powdered turmeric
Red: Peeled Beets or beet juice
Purple: Sliced inner leaves from red cabbage
Brown: Strong coffee in place of the water
